 FAQs

  • Beauty in Architecture (BARCH) is a Norwegian non-profit organization promoting classical and traditional architecture in the modern world. Through our annual symposium in Oslo and various educational initiatives, BARCH encourages critical discussions around architectural beauty, harmony, and sustainability to contrast the current design trends. Our goal is to foster community and appreciation for human-scaled, heritage-informed designs that resonate with our common cultural and historical identity.

  • The 4th edition of Beauty in Architecture (previously Beauty & Ugliness) will be held at Håndverkeren in central Oslo. We will be posting more detailed advice for travel and accommodation in the coming weeks.

  • Yes! More information about our BARCH Hotel Deals are available here.

  • Yes! We’ll be streaming all lectures in real time so you can follow along from anywhere. You’ll also be able to participate in live Q&As and connect with other attendees through our online platform. Access details will be shared closer to the event, so stay tuned!

That said, we highly recommend attending in person if you can. There are many things happening beyond the talks: informal gatherings, exhibitions, tours and workshops. The best conversations usually happen between sessions. Everyone’s welcome — and we’d love to see you there.

  • A tentative program will be released in March 2026, and updated throughout spring.
